Sally Diamond cannot understand why what she did was so strange. She was only doing what her father told her to do, to put him out with the rubbish when he died.

Now Sally gets a lot of attention from strangers, the police, social media, the thing is everything she needed to learn to survive alone her father didn’t learned her because she was special and he was a shrink, her mom wanted her to go to uni but her father stopped even that. They weren’t her real parents, she was adopted. Now she needs to make friends and survive alone in the world only from some letters with advice her father left her. But those letters became strange when she finds out things about her childhood. Gifts start to arrive and everyone around Sally believes that her real father is looking out for her.

Yes, there are a lot of trigger warnings in this book, her mom was 12yo when she gave birth to Sally, she was kidnapped at 11yo and raped for years by a maniac, her mom was held captive whilst Sally was raised in the same house by this abuser.

Sally wasn’t mentally ill, didn’t had autism or any disease but she had a lot of trauma, she forgot her trauma and now it resurface. I’m really curious where this book is going, because I really can’t see a happy ending here.

This was so weird, I don’t even know if I like it or not, it was strong for me, not a snowflake but I like my thriller’s shock value to be smart written, not just pure horror.
