Sometimes bad things happen to good people, so good people have to do bad things.

Twenty years after a baby is stolen from a stroller, a woman is murdered in a care home. The two crimes are somehow linked, and a good bad girl may be the key to discovering the truth.

Edith may have been tricked into a nursing home, but at eighty-years-young, she’s planning her escape. Patience works there, cleaning messes and bonding with Edith, a kindred spirit. But Patience is lying to Edith about almost everything. Edith’s own daughter, Clio, won’t speak to her. With every reason to distrust each other, the women must solve a mystery with three suspects, two murders, and one victim. If they do, they might just find out what happened to the baby who disappeared, the mother who lost her, and the connections that bind them.

A new novel written by my fave author Alice Feeney, I am super excited about it because her last novel Daisy Darker was ah-maizing.

We have a lot of female characters, a lot of drama, mommy issues and missing persons… a delight in the thriller world. Patience is an 18yo who tricks Edith, an old lady that now because of her daughter Clio who is a therapist, lives in a home. Patience hides secrets, Edith is a retired detective, Clio is deceptive and then there’s Joy, the home’s manager who gets murdered. We also have Frankie an OCD lady with lots of secrets, looking for her missing daughter. Then, another female character appears, a detective that investigates Joy’s murder and the disappearance of Edith. Insane. It’s so interactive I can’t stop reading it.

I feel like money being the motive isn’t a motive strong enough for this novel, it can’t be just that, it’s more than that. It’s the thriller novel I’ve never know I needed and I desperately did. It was insane, such a rollercoaster and I did had high hopes. Finished it in two days, I could have in a night that’s how desperate I was to find out the deeds. Such a fantastic thriller.
