Six friends.

One college reunion.

One unsolved murder.

A college reunion turns dark and deadly in this chilling and propulsive suspense novel about six friends, one unsolved murder, and the dark secrets they’ve been hiding from each other—and themselves—for a decade.

This book started amazing, dark academia vibes in the beginning of autumn, started reading it on September 1st which ultimately made it a comfort read for me. I’ve heard about all the commercial made surrounding this novel, the whole Booktok talked about it when it was published but here I am today, always late but never forgotten.

But now it’s slowly dragging, tbh I’ve read the most dark academia book of all times aka The Secret History by Donna Tartt, and nothing can beat that. Wait a minute… A sex scene happens, and I know how bad sex scenes in thrillers are but this was quite amusing and I actually liked it. It became interesting, I’ve started to know the characters more and I’m starting to like the book?! Wow, I’m just super involved now, not necessarly because of the sex scene but also because of the present basement scene. For the moment, I believe the past is more interesting than the future but the present is falling heavily and I adore it. It is good, but man I was so into C. and J. being together it made me question the whole book.

Also, for a handful of friends they have a lot of secrets, clearly more entertaining than Secret History. It’s weird to keep secrets, well it’s normal but we give secrets too much importance… they seem so big in our heads sometimes eating us alive when in reality, we’re made to be flawed. It’s okay. Anyway, I kinda guessed the ending by mistake but it was entertaining although I wish it would had been shorter.
